At the Orange County Centers for Oral Surgery and Dental Implants, we provide
a variety of oral surgery procedures for patients of all ages from our
four Orange County surgical centers. For detailed information about the
procedures we offer, review the list below.
Wisdom teeth are the last molars to develop in both the upper and lower
jaw and are the furthest back in the mouth. Often times, wisdom teeth
can erupt at angles that can cause functional difficulties for surrounding
teeth and gums. We offer comprehensive wisdom teeth evaluation and removal
for patients in Orange County.
Canine or “Eye teeth,” are the teeth third -from-center both
the upper and lower jaw. They are also the second most likely teeth to
become impacted (next to wisdom teeth) — which means they can encounter
difficulty erupting properly. Our oral surgeons provide specialized procedures
to address impacted canines in both children and adults.
Oral surgery procedures such as dental implant placement may require bone
grafting (the transplanting of bone tissue) for best results. You can

the link above.
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is a biologic concentrate obtained by taking
a sample of blood from a patient and spinning it in a centrifuge to isolate
the platelet-rich fraction. This concentrate is then re-injected into
targeted areas to promote healing and tissue growth. Recently, PRP injections
have been introduced with great success to variety of procedures, including
bone grafting and TMJ treatment. We are proud to offer PRP injections
as a component of our oral surgery care at our Orange County offices.
The temporomandibular joint is responsible for opening and closing the
mouth and is thus crucial in jaw-movement activities such as chewing.
Disease states and decreased function of the temporomandibular joint are
termed TMD (temporomandibular disorder). We offer both conservative (non-surgical)
and surgical procedures to treat TMD and other TMJ issues.
Injuries to the face often involve the teeth, jaw, and other parts of the
mouth. In the event that surgery is needed, our board-certified oral and
maxillofacial surgeons perform surgical repair procedures to address lacerations
of the face and mouth, broken or knocked out teeth, jaw damage, and other
facial bone injuries.
Oral pathology deals with identifying, diagnosing and treating disease
processes in the mouth and jaw. Our oral surgeries perform biopsy work
for any suspicious tissue detected in these areas, and, in many cases,
our oral and maxillofacial surgeons can perform lesion removal in our
Orange County offices, or in a hospital setting.
Orthognathic surgery is used to correct abnormalities in the jaw when there
is misalignment of the upper and lower jaw. Orthognathic jaw surgery is
typically performed in conjunction with orthodontic treatment and results
in a more functional and aesthetically pleasing jaw position. Our surgeons
perform comprehensive jaw surgery to treat a number of different jaw abnormalities.
Sleep apnea is a chronic sleep disorder that affects an individual's
ability to breathe properly during sleep. While sleep apnea is commonly
treated by the use of appliances such as jaw repositioning devices and
or CPAP machines, or minimally-invasive treatments such as radiofrequency
tongue ablation, additional, surgical intervention is sometimes needed.
Our surgeons have extensive experience diagnosing and treating sleep apnea
in patients of all ages.
Oral surgeries and other dental procedures often require the use of sedation
to mitigate pain and keep the patient relaxed during treatment. We offer
local anesthesia and nitrous oxide, pre-operative oral sedation, and general
anesthesia/IV sedation for a variety of procedures.
